Field Engineer (Hertfordshire)

Purpose of the role:
To assist the existing team with the installation and maintenance of CCTV and security equipment throughout the UK. To maintain a stock management system, ensuring the stock is up to date and adhere to company quality and health and safety standards.
Main duties:
Installation of CCTV towers and equipment
Installation of CCTV security towers
Servicing of CCTV systems
Fault diagnoses of CCTV systems
Driving to site (National)
Managing van stock
Surveying sites
Completing paperwork
Adhering to H & S requirements of Wireless CCTV and clients
Electronic Assembly and Testing
PCB Board Assembly
Cable preparation
Programming CCTV cameras
Overall assembly of products
Testing of products
Complete build records
Remedial fault analysis/technical support
Business Improvement
To assist in the implementation of improvements wherever possible to reduce costs and improve time efficiency
To assist and update production processes and documentation
To assist in engineering change control
Other duties
Any other duties within the level of competence as requested by the Directors or Senior Management.
To ensure that all procedures are adhered to as stipulated in the Company Quality Procedures and Quality Policy in accordance with the ISO 9001:2008 standard
Essential Skills and experience required:
Computer literate –able to take and input information into excel. Basic Word and Email
Manual dexterity, able to assemble/fix electronic equipment to a prescribed standard
Organised approach
Experience of testing and diagnosing problems in electrical equipment
Desirable skills and experience required:
Understanding of very basic computer networking, ie what an IP address is and when used..
Stock control processes, accurate checking in and out of goods and supplies
Working with CCTV equipment
Essential Qualifications:
GCSE in English and Maths
Driving licence
Desirable Qualifications:
NVQ or National Diploma in Soldering
NVQ or National Diploma in Electronics
Essential Attitudes Required:
Flexible approach to working hours, some overtime may be required, sometimes at short notice
Quality focused, right first time approach
Able to demonstrate good timekeeping and attendance with previous employers
Able to work on own initiative and use it to solve problems
Able to work as a team and as an individual
Additional information:
Hours of work: 40 hours between 8am and 5.00pm, overtime required and overnight stays.
